Light and Ashes of the Steppe
Each painting in this series is my personal dialogue with the past. As a descendant of the Kipchaks (Cumans, Polovtsians), I reinterpret the legacy of my people through these images. These are not just scenes: they convey the voice of my family, my memory of nomadic history, embodied in the faces of my ancestors. This work is a bridge between the past and the present, which I want to share with those who maintain this connection.

«Kazakh Memory»
“Kazakh Memory” is a series of paintings that reflects on cultural identity and the continuity of traditions within Kazakh society. The works explore how collective memory is preserved through family relationships, shared experiences, and the transmission of values from one generation to another.
The paintings present figures and scenes that evoke personal and collective memory. Rather than depicting folklore as something distant or historical, the series approaches tradition as a living presence that continues to shape contemporary identity.
The word “Kazakh” itself is often associated with the meaning of a free or independent person — a wanderer of the steppe. This idea of freedom and movement forms an essential part of the cultural imagination of the steppe and continues to resonate in the present.
Through this series I explore how memory, identity, and cultural heritage remain interconnected, revealing the ways in which the past continues to live within the present.

The Cycle
“The Cycle” explores the shifting rhythms that define inner and external transformation. Each painting captures a distinct energetic state within a continuous loop of change.
The first work descends into a dense, atmospheric space where a lone figure stands beneath a narrow shaft of light — a moment of confrontation with the unknown, where movement begins in darkness. The second painting pauses the flow: a single sphere rests in an almost silent environment, suspended between motion and stillness, embodying equilibrium and contemplation. The third piece ignites with vivid strokes and organic force, expressing release, renewal, and the upward surge of new growth.
Together, these works reveal transformation not as a linear journey, but as a recurring cycle in which stillness, tension, and expansion coexist. The series invites the viewer to experience change as a natural, repeating pulse — a movement that continually dissolves and reforms itself.
